Golf has a reputation problem. It looks slow, gentle, almost leisurely. The lumbar spine of every golfer who has ever played competitively knows a different story. Systematic reviews have failed to conclusively link low back pain to "poor" swing technique alone, which tells us this isn't purely a coaching problem. It's a loading and recovery problem. You can have a technically sound swing and still be accumulating damage if the tissue never gets a genuine chance to recover between rounds.

Does cryotherapy actually help golfers specifically?
There's no golf-specific clinical trial on cryotherapy, but the underlying mechanism, reducing inflammation and muscle soreness after repetitive rotational loading, applies directly to what a golfer's lower back and hips experience after 18 holes or a heavy range session.
How often should a golfer use recovery modalities?
Most of the supporting research uses protocols of two to three sessions per week, or immediately following high-load days such as tournament rounds or intensive practice blocks. A clinician can tailor frequency to your playing calendar.
Is HBOT safe for a golfer with no diagnosed medical condition?
Generally yes for mild pressure protocols in healthy adults, but it should still be screened by a doctor first, particularly for anyone with a history of lung conditions or ear pressure issues.
